🎯 B1 Goal

Learn when to use a possessive adjective and when to use a possessive pronoun.

Simple rule: Possessive adjectives go before a noun. Possessive pronouns replace the noun.

Possessive adjective

Use it before a noun.

✅ Correct: This is my book.

❌ Wrong: This is mine book.

Possessive pronoun

Use it alone. It replaces the noun.

✅ Correct: This book is mine.

❌ Wrong: This book is my.

💡 Teacher question: Is there a noun after it? If yes, use my, your, her, our, their. If no, use mine, yours, hers, ours, theirs.
